QPR and Watford face transfer race as Leeds United eye big £8m coup

This summer, both QPR and Watford will compete for two alleged transfer targets.

QPR is looking for a Scottish Premiership teenager.
QPR could make a move for Aberdeen free agent Kieran Ngwenya this summer, following his departure from the Scottish Premiership club. According to Aberdeen Live, the R’s could sign the 21-year-old to start with the Championship side’s youth squad. Ngwenya played four years at Pittodrie, gaining experience on loan at Partick Thistle, Raith Rovers, Kelty Hearts, and Cove Rangers.

QPR would face competition from Partick Thistle and Dunfermline Athletic for the defender, who last played for Aberdeen in January 2021.

Watford face Premier League competition for the Celtic forward.
Watford may face further competition this summer for promising Celtic attacker Rocco Vata.

 

According to Football Insider, Nottingham Forest are preparing to make a move for the 19-year-old, competing with the Hornets and Serie A club Bologna. Vata is due to become a free agent this summer, having yet to sign a new contract with the Glasgow giants. The forward has been with the club since 2012, rising through the ranks. He played largely for the Hoops’ B team last season, but also appeared six times for the first squad under Brendan Johnson, scoring one.

Leeds United looking to re-sign Farke for £8 million
Leeds United may try to reunite Daniel Farke with Norwich City attacker Josh Sargent this summer. The USA international dazzled last season, scoring 16 goals in just 26 Championship appearances. Farke brought Sargent to Norwich while he was with the Canaries.

The Whites could be considering an £8 million deal for the striker to keep their promotion aspirations alive for next season. Norwich City sporting director Ben Knapper has also hinted at a potential departure. According to the Pink Un, Knapper stated that the club would need to approve sales in order to balance its books. He explained: “There is always pressure on us here because that is our model. Whether we have to or not, we want to, and that is also how we define success. Of course, we always want to construct a club that can be promoted; that is the goal, but we must be sustainable.”
