Fans are frustrated by the Miami Heat’s lack of trade activity this summer, but player Bam Adebayo is simply enjoying the attention.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Tuesday that the Brooklyn Nets will trade star Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks in return for a package that includes Bojan Bogdanovic and four unprotected first-round picks.Adebayo mocked Bridges’ former Villanova Wildcat and current New York Knicks teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. He wrote on X (previously Twitter), commenting, “@jalenbrunson1 @joshhart You guys were tampering!” Fans’ dissatisfaction was evident in their answers, which urged Adebayo to bring Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell to the Heat.
While recent sources suggest Mitchell is unlikely to be acquired, there are still plenty of players on the market for Miami’s front management to target. Paul George (Los Angeles Clippers) and Brandon Ingram (New Orleans Pelicans) stand out among those who appear to be available. Previously, it appeared that the Heat could repeat their success next season with a similar squad, but the Knicks’ legal advancements must make team president Pat Riley reconsider.
The NBA Draft takes place on Wednesday evening, with the Heat holding the No. 15 choice in the first round, but rumors of a trade up persist.
