Steven Schumacher has already welcomed three new arrivals this summer, and his transfer business is far from over. Steven Schumacher is still aiming to bolster his squad after recruiting three players throughout the offseason.
Stoke City have already signed Viktor Johansson, Ben Gibson, and Eric Bocat ahead of the opening day of preseason at Clayton Wood on Monday.
There are also likely to be exits, with the club reportedly beginning to entertain inquiries as business picks up across the division. It’s a good start, but there’s still a forward or two on the schedule.
Head coach Schumacher stated, “Recruitment is going well. As you can expect, we have a few projects on the go, but like everyone else, we are still trying. It’s a slow process, especially in this championship, but we won’t stop now.”
Stoke City’s senior team appears to be much healthier than it was this time last year, when none of the 18 additions scheduled for the summer window had arrived.
However, Schumacher and sporting director Jon Walters will have to deal with midfielder Ben Pearson’s long-term injury, while Ryan Mmaee is not scheduled to return until the final week of preseason.
