JUST IN: Chelsea are interested in signing Nottingham Forest defender

Murillo, a defender for Nottingham Forest, is reportedly wanted by Chelsea, but they aren’t willing to pay the asking price.

The Blues have been busy during the transfer season. They have already agreed to sign teenagers Omari Kellyman and Marc Guiu from Aston Villa and Barcelona, respectively, while they have also signed Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham on a free transfer.

The team is rumoured to still be looking for a striker and a wide player, and if either Marc Cucurella or Ben Chilwell leaves, a left defender might be added.

Murillo is of interest to Chelsea.
According to Brazilian publication UOL, Forest values centre defender Murillo at £50.7 million, and the Blues are keen in signing him.

According to the report, Chelsea stated in their first discussions that they wouldn’t be able to achieve that valuation and that they would think about making an additional offer of cash and two players to close the transaction.

The Blues now have six centre backs in the lineup, including Alfie Gilchrist, after acquiring Adarabioyo. However, the young player will be loaned out to an Italian team, Como, for the upcoming campaign.

It’s fascinating that Chelsea still appears to be interested in centre backs, but any deal will almost definitely depend on Trevoh Chalobah (who the Blues hope to trade this summer) leaving the team.

Murillo came to Forest last summer from Brazilian team Corinthians, and during Forest’s brief tenure in the Premier League, he made 36 appearances across all competitions.as Forest stayed in the Premier League for a second consecutive season.
