Wolverhampton Wanderers are about to lose a promising young talent to Premier League rivals Liverpool.
Alvin Ayman, a Wolves midfielder, is apparently closing down on a permanent move to Liverpool, potentially for almost nothing as Arne Slot’s side devises a workaround.

The 16-year-old only joined Wanderers in August, after leaving Bradford City after seven years. It could be time for another shift soon, though, as Liverpool has been circling and is hopeful of completing a deal. David Lynch, a freelance journalist, told Anfield Index that the sale is almost done. They believe he is a talented individual and are attempting to reach an agreement on a fee that will avoid the involvement of a tribunal. “They are quite confident.” It is known that Ayman has sparked interest from several of the Premier League’s ‘big six’ clubs, so Liverpool’s move is not unexpected. The Wolves youth can play defensive midfield or centre-back, and he has already garnered international notice by being chosen a standby for England Under-17s last year. Ayman has only played nine competitive junior matches for Wolves since arriving roughly 11 months ago, but two of them have been for the Under-21 side, which is far above his age level. Wolves feel he has outstanding potential, which has sparked attention from Liverpool and other clubs.

 

Gary O’Neil even invited Ayman to join the senior players for a Premier League encounter at Manchester City a few months back. Despite not being named to the squad, the experience will have been priceless.
