Could the Bruins sign two notable free agents by noon? July 1 is arrived, which means NHL free agency will start at noon. It’s going to be a very busy day, with several players seeking new homes.
The Boston Bruins, who have lots of cap room, are anticipated to make significant investments this season as they strive to assemble a Stanley Cup-caliber group.
In a previous post, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman projected where some of the best free agents would sign today. In it, he mentioned the Bruins as potential destinations for center Elias Lindholm and defenseman Nikita Zadorov. It’s no secret that the Bruins have been linked to Lindholm since last summer, and here is their chance to bring him to Boston. They urgently need a top-six center, and he would provide it. They also have the funds to sign him to the deal
he is searching for. Zadorov has been said to be a target for the Bruins, which makes sense. They are anticipated to replace Matt Grzelcyk and Derek Forbort this summer, so they want further depth on their left side. Furthermore, the Bruins require additional size and tenacity on the blueline, which Zadorov would provide. It is crucial to note that Friedman’s prediction does not ensure that the Bruins will sign either player at this point. However, once free agency begins, it is something that should be taken seriously. If Boston acquires one or both of these guys, their squad would undoubtedly improve.
