Striker Rob Street Joins On Loan From Crystal Palace - Torquay United

The 22-year-old attacker is expected to leave following one season of a three-year contract at Whaddon Road.

Street turned rejected a new contract with Premier League Crystal Palace to join Cheltenham last summer, but the Imps were one of several clubs interested in him.

He has three goals in 22 appearances for the Robins before suffering a knee injury during the first half of the 2-1 loss to Derby County on January 27.

Street broke the club’s long goal drought last season, putting them ahead 1-0 at home to Derby before the Rams equalised to earn a point at Whaddon Road.

He also scored in the 2-0 home win over Oxford United and the FA Cup first-round loss to AFC Wimbledon.

During his time at Palace, Street went on loan to Torquay United of the National League and Newport County AFC of League Two.He spent the previous two years in League One and now appears to be staying in the third division with the Imps, who are managed by Michael Skubala. The number of players leaving Cheltenham this summer is set to increase.

They will play their first pre-season friendly at Bishop’s Cleeve on Friday night (7.45pm).
