Luton Town are now leading Norwich City in a race to sign 25 years old Premier League midfielder

According to The Sun, both Luton Town and Norwich City are interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien.
Luton Town are considering a move for the Premier League star as they prepare for life back in the Championship. They may see him as someone who can provide competition and depth to their middle-of-the-park choices, but he will face competition for his signature this summer. O’Brien, 25, spent last season on loan at second-tier Middlesbrough, where he appeared in 23 games across all competitions. He has since returned to his parent club and has a few years left on his contract at the City Ground.

According to The Sun, the Hatters have identified him as a potential target during this window as they attempt to freshen up their roster. Rob Edwards is still in charge at Kenilworth Road and will be looking for immediate promotion back to the top division. Luton Town are interested in Nottingham Forest’s O’Brien, who came up through Huddersfield Town’s academy and spent time on loan at Bradford City before joining the main squad.

He helped the Yorkshire club to the play-off final under Carlos Corberan before joining Nottingham Forest.

However, the Colchester native has struggled to make an impact at his present club. He was loaned out to America to join DC United in the MLS before joining Middlesbrough on a temporary deal last year.

Luton Town may have identified him as someone who might provide a unique experience in the middle of the pitch.

He is left-footed, so he could provide them with some balance in that area. What’s next?
It appears unlikely that O’Brien will stay at Nottingham Forest.

He has fallen out of favour with the Reds, which is why they have leased him out twice.

Luton Town has emerged as a potential next destination, however Norwich City has also been discussed.
