Swansea City are close to announcing the departure of another 22-year-old star.

Southampton are close to completing a deal for Swansea City’s highly regarded central defender, Nathan Wood.

This is according to journalist Pete O’Rourke, who claims on X that the recently promoted Premier League club is in early talks with Wood ahead of a physical in Hampshire.

Wood is known to Saints manager Russell Martin, who brought the 22-year-old to South Wales from Middlesbrough in June 2022 during his two-year spell at Swansea.

Now he’s likely to return to haunt them by sniping Wood after taking Southampton back to the Premier League at the first attempt, albeit considering the defender’s age and prominence, Swansea could command a high sum.
