BREAKING NEWS : Alabama Women’s Announces Addition to Staff: Roll Call, July 2, 2024

Alabama’s women’s basketball program has a new staff member. Following the finest season under head coach Kristy Curry, the Alabama women’s basketball program introduced a new staff member on Monday. Kevin Markle will join the Crimson Tide as associate strength and conditioning coach.

Markle spent the last three seasons at Stony Brook, winning the CAA regular season championship at the end of his career. He has previously held positions at Louisiana Tech, UMass Lowell, Penn State, and Wagner. Markle was Stony Brook’s associate director of athletic performance.

The Crimson Tide won 24 games in 2023-24, Curry’s 11th season with the team, and received the No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Alabama also had a double-bye in the conference tournament after finishing fourth in the SEC standings, and the team won its NCAA Tournament opener against Florida State before losing to top seed Texas.

Donta Hall, a former Alabama basketball player, is reportedly attracting interest from NBA teams. He now plays overseas for AS Monaco, where he has been successful, and the center has previously rejected down offers from the NBA to stay in Monaco. Hall has previously played in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, and Orlando Magic. According to reports, his contract includes an NBA opt-out option.
Former LSU catcher Brady Neal has committed to the Alabama baseball team through the transfer portal. Neal, who played at Sewell-Thomas Stadium for the Tigers last season, might be in line to replace Mac Guscette as the Crimson Tide’s primary catcher. In 2024, the left-handed hitter batted.276 and drove in 31 runs.
