Derby County transfer news from Derbyshire Live: Rams sign “versatile forward” as rebuilding continues ahead of Championship return. Derby County have signed their second player of the summer, Kayden Jackson.
The club announced the deal today, saying in a statement: “Jackson, 30, has signed a two-year contract with Derby, which will run until the summer of 2026, after spending the previous six seasons with Ipswich Town.”
“The versatile forward links up with the Rams after earning back-to-back promotions with the Tractor Boys, from League One to the Premier League, under Kieran McKenna.”
Jackson joins midfielder Ben Osborn in Paul Warne’s squad this summer, with more signings to come.
The Rams statement continued, “Jackson was a crucial figure in Ipswich’s promotion from League One in the 2022/23 season, as well as appearing regularly in the Championship in 2023/24, pitching in with three goals and five assists as the Tractor Boys were promoted to the top flight.
“He is closing in on 400 appearances in senior football and has scored 78 times.”
Derby have targeted up to nine signings this window, with Jerry Yates set to clinch a season-long loan deal from Swansea City this week. Derby are also confident of signing Leicester City goalkeeper Daniel Iversen.
