Swansea City striker Sammy Henia-Kamau has signed his first professional deal with the team.

The 18-year-old has extended his stay in SA1 until June 2025, after arriving last summer as a scholar.

Henia-Kamau scored his first hat-trick for the Swans in the under-18s’ opening PDL Cup group stage match against Cardiff City, and they went on to win the competition.

During his excellent debut season with the club, he scored ten goals across all competitions.

The youngster spent his youth career with Jersey Bulls FC, where he became the youngest player to score a hat trick for the first squad.

In June 2022, he received the annual Sid Guy Award for the most outstanding player at the Jersey FA’s Centre of Excellence.

He scored 20 goals in 15 games for the Jersey Bulls Under-16s across all competitions, as well as six goals for their Under-18s.

Jarred Harvey, Swansea City Under-18s head coach, said: “It’s an incredible achievement that every young footballer dreams of.”

“I’ve only been here a short time, and Sammy has proved that he is talented. The hard work begins now, and maybe he can come as near to that first team.

He tries to be as green as possible.

“I want to congratulate Sammy on the contract, as its something you earn as a player and extend the congratulations to his family who have supported him throughout his career.”
