According to a claim in the Turkish media, Wolverhampton Wanderers are again showing interest in Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson. The Denmark international was linked with a move to the Premier League side during the last transfer window, but a move never materialised. Yeni Safak claim Nelsson is back on Wolves’ radar as they look to bring in a central defender this summer. With Max Kilman recently signing for West Ham United, the club will be in the market for a central defender, with Nelsson again seen as an option. We covered reports from Turkey in January that Nelsson had emerged as a target for Wolves. At the time it was claimed his agent had travelled to England to hold transfer talks with Wolves. The Dane
reportedly wanted to quit Galatasaray after declining a contract extension offer. Nelsson played 42 games for the Turkish champions last season, scoring two goals. His contract with Cimbom runs until June 2026.
Due to an injury, the 25-year-old missed this summer’s Euros and is now in pre-season training with Gala.
