BREAKING NEWS : Coventry City are close to agree on a fee to sign 21 years old goalkeeper

Coventry City have yet to agree on a fee to sign Hammarby goalkeeper Oliver Dovin.

According to Sports Bladet, the two sides’ appraisals of the player are still quite different.

This is a little blow for the Sky Blues, who have had a rather successful start to the summer transfer season, with a few decent additions on paper.

Raphael Borges Rodrigues, a talented attacker, has joined from Australian side Macarthur, Luis Binks has returned to the Sky Blues permanently, and Jack Rudoni has moved to Huddersfield Town.

Binks, who was on loan at the Coventry Building Society Arena last season, appears to be an important addition, having impressed at times during the 2023/24 campaign.

Rudoni, meanwhile, might be one of the summer’s top additions after thriving with the Terriers.

After joining Coventry as a much-needed midfield option, he has the potential to take his game to the next level and be a valuable addition in the middle of the park.

They may have lost Callum O’Hare, who departed the club when his contract in the Midlands expired, but they still have the rest of the window to find a replacement if Rudoni does not play in an advanced midfield role.

Oliver Dovin ● 2023

Despite losing a number of players in recent weeks, the Sky Blues appear to be strong in many areas, with one or two spots that may need to be addressed in the coming weeks.
Coventry City is closing in on Oliver Dovin, and the goalkeeping situation needs to be improved. The goalkeeping position is one that needs to be addressed, with Brad Collins knocking Ben Wilson out of his starting berth.

Wilson was a wonderful asset during the 2022/23 campaign, but he was unable to play to his best last term, hence his replacement Collins did not impress either, being at fault for at least one of the goals against Hull City during the closing stages of

With this in mind, it’s no wonder that the Sky Blues are looking for another stopper, and they’re in the “final stages” of discussions to sign Dovin.

Sports Bladet believes there is still a reasonable disparity between the two sides’ estimations of the player.

Coventry City’s patience could pay off for Oliver Dovin.
Although there appears to be some haggling to be done before a contract is reached, the Sky Blues should not withdraw from the contest.

It appears that their tenacity in attempting to close a deal will pay off, as 21-year-old Dovin might be a superb stopper in the long run.

Bringing in a young stopper who has never played in the Championship is a gamble.

However, he has the potential to be a valuable asset.

The Sky Blues’ recruitment in recent years has been great, so fans should have confidence that Dovin will be a valuable acquisition.
