DONE DEAL : Barnsley FC announced the signing of another 22 years old potential star

Barnsley have signed Walsall goalkeeper Jackson Smith on a four-year contract.
Smith, 22, is the club’s third summer window signing, joining Conor Hourihane and Marc Roberts, who were both promoted to the Championship with the club in 2015-16 and are returning for a second term at Oakwell.

There is an additional benefit to the club in extending Smith’s contract. The custodian has joined at an unknown cost. The Telford native rose through Wolves’ academy ranks after joining the club at the age of eight.

After a 13-year affiliation with Wanderers, he moved across the Black Country to Walsall on a permanent basis last July, following a loan spell at the club in the second half of 2022-23 as backup to first-choice keeper Owen Evans.
