Brighton have signed England U19 goalkeeper Hannah Poulter to a three-year contract, Mail Sport can confirm.
Poulter had been playing college football for the University of South Carolina, but she planned to return to England for the upcoming season.
Last month, Mail Sport revealed that Poulter was courted by a number of Women’s Super League clubs, including Tottenham, West Ham, and Everton, but the teenager has decided to sign a long-term contract with Brighton.
Poulter reportedly signed her contract before going to Lithuania to join England’s U19 squad for this summer’s European Championship.
Brighton appointed Dario Vidosic, a former Australia international, as their new manager on Wednesday and have already been active in the transfer market.
England forward Fran Kirby signed a three-year contract with the club this week, and Japanese international Kiko Seike, who will compete in the Olympics this summer, has also joined.
Poulter, a Reading academy graduate, will be hopeful that England can win more tournaments this summer. The young Lionesses will face the tournament hosts on July 14, Serbia on July 17, and France on July 20 in their quest to reach the knockout stages.
