DONE DEAL : Brighton & Hove Albion announce the signing of another fantastic star

Brighton & Hove Albion announced the acquisition of Amario Cozier-Duberry on Sunday, after the winger left Arsenal. Brighton & Hove Albion confirmed over the weekend that they had finalized the signing of Amario Cozier-Duberry, who signed a contract until June 2028. Albion’s technical director, David Weir, said of the move: “We’re delighted to be able to bring Amario to the club. He has qualities we admire, and we believe he will thrive in our atmosphere.

“We’re looking forward to working with him and helping his career to progress.”

Arsenal just confirmed Cozier-Duberry’s departure, after offering him a new contract but being turned down. On June 20th, the footballer announced his intention to leave the club.

Cozier-Duberry then hinted at an impending announcement on Sunday, bidding farewell to Arsenal.

The winger wrote on his Instagram story, “Thank you to all the staff, coaches, and teammates at Arsenal for the last five years.” I am appreciative for everything the club has done to help me get to where I am now. “You will always hold a special place in my heart.” Though Cozier-Duberry was out of contract, his age and Arsenal’s contract offer meant he was not a free move. Brighton will owe Arsenal some training.

Even so, the fee will be minimal for a team like Arsenal, so it’s a shame they couldn’t have gotten another year or two out of Cozier-Duberry before selling him for a higher fee.

Cozier-Duberry scored 13 goals in 24 appearances for Arsenal’s academy in 2023/24.
