EA Sports announced the list on Wednesday, as the highly anticipated video game’s release date approaches. IOWA CITY, Iowa— Several current Iowa Hawkeyes football players will start as some of the finest in the all-new College Football 25 competition.
On Wednesday, EA Sports announced the top-100 players in the College Football 25 game, which includes four Hawkeyes. Middle linebacker Jay Higgins and free safety Sebastian Castro are both ranked in the top 40 on the list, at No. 16 and No. 38 overall, respectively. Higgins is also now ranked fifth among all Big Ten Conference players in the game. The top five Big Ten players in the game are Michigan cornerback Will Johnson and Ohio State free
safety Caleb Downs, Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham, Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins and Higgins. Two other Iowa players, right outside linebacker Nick Jackson at No. 86 and strong safety Xavier Nwankpa, finished toward the bottom of the top-100. The full list of the top-100 highest rated players in College Football 25 can be viewed here. Interestingly, no players from the Iowa State Cyclones had an appearance in the top-100 ranked
players list. Among the entire top-100 list, 15 players play for Big 12 Conference teams. Big 12 teams with multiple players selected to the top-100 include Colorado, Arizona, Cincinatti, Kansas and Oklahoma State. Once released, College Football 25 will be the first college football game produced and designed by EA Sports since 2013.
Over the last month, EA has continued to reveal additional details about the game. The game’s website now contains a breakdown of each game mode for College Football 25. EA Sports just released a lengthy video giving viewers an in-depth look at the gameplay of College Football 25. College Football 25 will be available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S beginning Friday, July 19.
