DONE DEAL : The Florida Gators has announce the commitment of another fantastic key star

Florida flips a four-star defender a week after he backed off a commitment to Alabama. The Florida Gators received their first verbal pledge in July, and this is their first linebacker commitment this cycle. Brewton (AL) T.R. Miller four-star Myles Johnson became the first linebacker to join UF’s class this cycle when he signed on Wednesday. He was committed to in-state Alabama since October of last year, but reopened his recruitment last week.

Even before the process began, the Gators were the team that pushed hardest for him to flip. Those efforts paid off, with him being the most recent addition to UF’s 2025 class.

Ron Roberts and Austin Armstrong, the Gators’ co-defensive coordinators, have led the charge here.

In June, he made official visits to UF and Ole Miss, as well as an unofficial visit to Gainesville. The efforts made by UF’s personnel to make him feel wanted have stuck out to him the most. While on During his formal visit last month, the workers clearly demonstrated their interest in him. “They care about you and your success here,” he explained last month. “They want you to succeed and be the best you can be in all aspects of your student-athlete experience. We spent a lot of time at dinners talking with Coach Cannon Gibbs, Ron Roberts, and Austin Armstrong. We finished our discussions today, and they wanted to make it clear that they value me and that I want to work somewhere where I feel desired.” With Johnson now in the fold, the Gators have nine commitments for the 2025 recruiting class. He joins Tallahassee (Florida). James Rickards’ four-star advantage Jalen Wiggins, Tampa (Florida) Waltez Clark, a four-star running back from Pembroke Pines, Florida, Joshua Moore, Havana (Fla.), West Broward’s three-star wide receiver. Gadsden County’s three-star defensive linemen Jeramiah McCloud, Jacksonville (FL) Riverside’s three-star tight end Taeshaun Gelsey, Madison (MS) Central, three-star tight end Micah Jones of Fulshear (TX) Katy Jordan Chad Gasper, a three-star running back, and Hayden Craig, a three-star punter from Bridgton Academy in Maine.  Johnson is presently listed as the No. 27 linebacker prospect in the 2025 recruiting class by 247Sports, as well as the No. 16 prospect in Alabama.
