Chisholm began his MLB career at second base and shortstop before being transferred to center, where he has developed into a strong defender. He’s not a monster at the plate, hitting barely above average.He has a 752 OPS in 2024 and 2023, although he is speedy and capable of hitting extra bases on occasion.

This season, the Mariners lack a player like Judge or Soto to bear the offensive responsibility. Even Julio Rodriguez has struggled at the plate. Chisholm would be a modest upgrade as Seattle may rely on its star outfielder and others on the roster to rebound in the second half of the season.
