SAD NEWS : 3 Luton Town key players likely to leave by 11pm

The first of those three is an Australian international who will most likely require more consistent minutes to keep his position in the national squad.

Middlesbrough also signed Glover for free last year, allowing them to make a rapid profit from his transfer.

Regarding Brynn and Hemming, the latter had a better 2023/24 season on loan at St Miren and would likely be the best second-choice option.

However, his performances for the Scottish club suggest Middlesbrough might receive a respectable transfer fee if they trade him this year.

Baptiste appears to be a terrific addition, but they may be looking to make more additions before the summer transfer window shuts.

They also want to offload some of their present first-team players, either on permanent contracts to balance the books or on loan agreements to let some of their younger players improve.

Below, we’ve looked at five players that could leave Kenilworth Road before the end of August.

Tim Krul Tim Krul is now one of the club’s three senior goalkeepers.

And Rob Edwards may want three senior goalkeepers for the upcoming season, as depth could be critical for the Hatters in their likely bid to return to the top flight.

Thomas Kaminski, Krul, and James Shea are all available as choices, and you believe one of the first two will leave Kenilworth Road before the end of August.

With Kaminski allegedly garnering interest from Ipswich Town, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave.

However, he is the younger, longer-term option, and with Krul rumoured to be on Blackburn Rovers’ radar, the Dutchman might be the one to leave Bedfordshire.

Luton would not be able to make a large profit if they sold him, but unloading him may reduce the club’s salary expenditure, allowing them to sign other players.

Allan Campbell

Luton midfielder Allan Campbell

Allan Campbell’s future with the club is now uncertain.

He may have made 42 league games during the 2022/23 season, but he did not always start under Edwards, and he only appeared once in the play-offs, as an unused substitute in the 2023 play-off final.

With this in mind, it was no surprise that he was loaned out by the Hatters to Millwall, but he didn’t get much game time with the Lions, making only 12 appearances across all competitions.

Other midfielders are expected to be ahead of him in the pecking order, and the player is sure to be eager to win a significant amount of game time next term, given his readiness to obtain a loan exit last summer.

Adding to that, it would be surprising if he didn’t leave by the end of August.

Joe Taylor (loan)

Following two successful loan periods last season, where the player thrived at both Colchester United and Lincoln City, it might be argued that Joe Taylor deserves a chance to shine in the Hatters’ first squad during the 2024/25 campaign.

Making the seamless transition to League One after a term in League Two with Colchester, it would not be surprising if he thrives in the second division over the coming season.

However, with Elijah Adebayo, Jacob Brown, Carlton Morris, and Cauley Woodrow as backups, he may not receive much playing time.

Taylor, who requires game time in order to improve, may be allowed to leave on loan once more.
