SAD NEWS : Reading FC confirmed the death of one of their key staff member

Reading FC has paid respect to the late Charlie Hurley, former first-team manager. Hurley, who was born in 1936, died at 87 earlier this week.

Hurley became Reading manager in 1972 after playing for Millwall, Sunderland, and Bolton Wanderers, totaling more than 550 league matches.

He led the Biscuitmen to fourth-tier promotion in the 1975/76 season before leaving the club in February 1977. Hurley is also credited with introducing Reading star Robin Friday to the club in 1974. Charlie Hurley: Sunderland legend dies aged 87 - BBC Sport

Reading Football Club issued a statement saying, “Everyone at Reading Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of former Reading Manager Charlie Hurley at the age of 87.” “A man who created memories and left a lasting impression on many in the local area, our sincere condolences go out to all of Charlie’s family and friends.”
