SHOCKING NEWS : Wolves have revealed that one of their key players’ contracts has been terminated.

Wolves have confirmed that one of their young players has had his loan agreement terminated.

In March, defender Justin Hubner signed a season-long loan with J1 League club Cerezo Osaka. Hubner, 20, had been looking to experience regular minutes at senior level having made an impression in the academy.

Hubner had been due to be with Osaka until the end of the calendar year.

But the Indonesia international, who was actually born in the Netherlands, has now had his loan move cancelled, with the official Wolves Academy account on X confirming that this morning.

It is not clear whether Hubner will now fly out to Marbella to join Gary O’Neil and the other players.

Wolves defender Justin Hubner’s loan is cancelled due to apparent lack of game time. Hubner, who joined Wolves in February 2020 from Dutch club Den Bosch, was expected to spend the entire season at Cerezo Osaka. But Osaka has played 23 league games so far, and Hubner has only appeared in six of them. Only one of those six appearances has been a start, with the remaining five being token cameos at the conclusion.

He made two more appearances in the Japanese League Cup.

Wolves have not announced that the loan was cancelled due to a lack of game time. However, given that he only played 190 minutes for the club, this is a plausible assumption.

Osaka also confirmed Hubner’s departure on their website this morning, with the player stating: “I am very sad to leave the team, but I will do my best to use my experience with Cerezo in my next team.”

“I look forward to meeting all of the fans and supporters again someday. Thank you so much for your help during my short stay here.”

A unsatisfactory loan. Hubner will now return to Wolves following an unsuccessful first loan move.

It’s regrettable that he didn’t get more minutes with the Japanese team, and Wolves won’t be impressed.

For whatever reason, Osaka manager Akio Kogiku did not want to pick him. He will undoubtedly do what he feels.

is best for his team, and perhaps Hubner simply did not perform at the expected level. Or he could have been legitimately unfortunate. Whatever the cause, the Wolves must now execute Hubner’s next move flawlessly.

The club may want to get him back out on loan so he can put this unsatisfactory spell behind him.
