At this point in his career, it’s difficult to deny that Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green has acquired a reputation as one of the toughest players in the NBA. Even the former Defensive Player of the Year will agree that he isn’t the NBA’s most feared player.
Green believes that this honor belongs solely to James Johnson.
Golden State Warriors News: Draymond Green sheds light on James Johnson’s reputation.
Green recently had a guest appearance on The Draymond Green Show with former NBA champion Jeff Teague. The two talked about Johnson’s reputation, which Teague says dates back to their time as college teammates at Wake Forest.
Green couldn’t agree more with how feared Johnson is in the NBA. In fact, the Warriors veteran discussed his own experience playing against the 6-foot-7 power forward. Green is not the type to meddle with (ask Jordan Poole), and his respect for Johnson speaks volumes.
Johnson, 37, is far from a star. In fact, he’s spent the most of his time on the Indiana Pacers bench over the last two of seasons. However, given what we know about Johnson, it’s evident why he’s still one of the most valuable players on the squad.
