The former Seminole has been signed by four different clubs, but he has yet to appear in the NBA. The NBA offseason has already seen the most of its major movements, but lesser transactions continue to occur on a regular basis. One such move occurred late Thursday night, when the Los Angeles Clippers sent future Hall of Famer Russell Westbrook to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Kris Dunn in a sign-and-trade.
The Clippers also traded the draft rights to former Florida State basketball center Balsa Koprivica, who has yet to make his NBA debut. Since being drafted 57th overall, Koprivica’s draft rights have already been acquired by four different teams.
in the 2021 NBA draft. Koprivica was originally selected by the Charlotte Hornets but was traded to the Detroit Pistons on draft night. He played with the Pistons’ summer league club in 2021 and 2022 before his rights were traded to the Los Angeles Clippers last summer. His draft rights are once again in the process of being transferred.
It’s questionable whether he’ll ever return to the NBA. He has played for Partizan, one of Serbia’s top EuroLeague teams. His father played on the squad and lives in the town where he grew up.Balsa Koprivica enrolled with Florida State in the 2019 recruiting class alongside Patrick Williams, although he did not play much during the 2019-20 season. He improved the following season, averaging 9.1 PPG and 5.8 RPG while displaying exceptional agility and touch for a 7-footer. Many people were startled by his proclamation in that year’s selection, but it appears he simply wanted the opportunity to return home. He had been in the United States since 2012 to pursue basketball but may have become homesick.
