BREAKING NEWS : Chicago Bears receive  boost as  fantastic  linebacker returns from a long-term knee ailment.

Former Jets and Raiders linebacker Javin White has been added to the Bears roster after being injured during the 2022 preseason while with the Bears.
When a team is adding depth at a position while also having a player injured at that position, it is usually a bad indicator.

Coach Matt Eberflus has not provided a poor long-term report on the health of veteran T.J. Edwards, but the seasoned starter is dealing with an issue that is restricting his involvement.

The Bears have now signed Javin White, a player they previously had but did not re-sign due to a knee injury. White was a UFL linebacker who had previously played for the Raiders and Jets.

White recorded 38 tackles and two sacks for the Michigan Panthers during the 2024 UFL season. He had a successful college career at UNLV, with nine interceptions.

Linebacker Makes Return to Bears Following Knee Injury

White was on the Bears’ preseason roster in 2022, and 10 days after signing, he sustained a devastating knee injury against the Kansas City Chiefs. It terminated his season. Then he attempted a comeback in the UFL.

White appeared in only six NFL games, five with the Raiders in 2020 and one with the Jets in 2021. He recorded four tackles.

With Edwards sidelined, the Bears lined up Amen Ogbongbemiga with Jack Sanborn and Tremaine Edmunds in their base defense at practice on Sunday.
