JUST IN : Bengals QB Joe Burrow takes massive step in return to action after

Joe Burrow, the Bengals quarterback, is coming off his second season-ending injury since entering the NFL as the first overall pick in 2020.

Last season, in Week 11, the 27-year-old tore the Scapholunate ligament in his right wrist, forcing him to miss the rest of the season.

Burrow has been working his way back this offseason, and on Monday, he received some big news in his quest to return to action. According to Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Burrow has been completely cleared for contact. The announcement comes only two days before the Bengals begin training camp.

The extent to which fans will see Burrow during the preseason is still up for question, but head coach Zac Taylor has indicated he will see

the field to some extent in the following weeks.
Taylor anticipates Burrow and all starters to play at some point this preseason, according quarterback Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. However, he said that the squad will take a proactive approach to easing him through camp in order for him to be in peak condition closer to the season.

That is prudent of Cincinnati, as Burrow has been one of the league’s greatest quarterbacks when healthy, throwing for 14,083 yards and 97 touchdowns over the last four seasons. However, this is something he has failed to achieve. Burrow tore his left ACL and MCL as a rookie.

Taylor likes what he has seen so far.

“He’s been accurate, on time, and throws with remarkable velocity and power. “I like what I see,” Taylor told Olivia Ray of WLWT.
