LATEST UPDATE : Miami Marlins confirmed the departure of another key left-handed pitcher

PHOENIX – The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired left-handed pitcher A.J. Puk in a trade with the Miami Marlins on Thursday, indicating that the team will be a buyer at the next trade deadline.

Puk, 29, should be useful in the D-backs bullpen. He’s been a reliable reliever over the last three seasons, with a 4-8 record and a 4.30 ERA in 32 appearances this year. The Arizona Diamondbacks, the defending National League champions, have improved this season after a difficult start, with a 53-50 record.

The Marlins acquired Deyvison De Los Santos, a minor league third baseman, and Andrew Pintar, an outfielder. De Los Santos, 21, is hitting.This season, while playing in Double-A and Triple-A, he hit 325 with 28 home runs and 84 RBIs.
