Wolves transfer decision made on star amid Celtic talks as ‘concrete’ interest met with clear stance

The Wolves star has become a Celtic transfer target.
Hugo Bueno is a transfer target for Celtic, as the Wolves left-back craves regular playing time.

According to the BBC, Brendan Rodgers is looking into the Spanish star. Greg Taylor is currently the Premiership champions’ only senior left-back, with academy talent Mitchell Frame expected to take his place if Taylor is injured or unavailable for duty. Celtic have “renewed” their attempt to sign him on a season-long loan, according to reports. There is no agreement in place, but negotiations are underway to move. Bueno, a Spanish youth international, has made 49 appearances for Wolves after joining the Premier League club’s academy from Areosa in 2019.

He is currently on Wolves’ tour of the United States, where Rodgers’ side also won friendly matches against DC United and Manchester City in preparation for the season. Chelsea comes up next, followed by a return to Scotland for the league opener against Kilmarnock. However, there is an obstacle for the star, who is presently valued at €6 million by Transfermarkt. According to the Express and Star, “Wolves are not interested in letting Hugo Bueno leave, despite concrete interest in him.”
