AS reported a week ago that Inter Miami’s Diego Gómez is close to joining Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.
Gerardo Martino, Inter Miami’s manager, has publicly encouraged the 21-year-old to join the Seagulls, suggesting that they are the ‘perfect fit’ for him.
Paraguayan writer Gustavo Rodríguez announced via Twitter that Gómez will join Brighton for $14 million [£10.9 million].
Rodríguez confirmed to Versus that Brighton has achieved a ‘complete agreement’ to sign the midfielder.
The journalist believes that the Paraguay international will’sign’ at Brighton ‘this Monday’. The Premier League side will offer $14 million to Inter Miami, and Gómez’s former club Club Libertad will receive 50% of that.

According to Rodríguez’s post on X, Fabian Hürzeler’s team has reached an agreement with Inter Miami for the player’s move. All that remains is for Gómez to sign the necessary forms and complete the transfer process.
Gómez joined Inter Miami in July 2023 and has scored five goals and provided four assists in 28 games.
