DONE DEAL : Mavericks land 3-and-D wing in blockbuster proposal with Nets

The Dallas Mavericks have masterfully structured their roster around Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving this summer, finding a way to improve significantly after their strong run to the 2024 NBA Finals.

This summer, Dallas focused on improving shooting and guard depth off the bench, which they accomplished by acquiring Klay Thompson and Spencer Dinwiddie. Both players will play important roles for the Mavericks this season, and all signs point to them remaining a Western Conference powerhouse next year.

After adding Dinwiddie, the Mavs now have a complete 15-man roster. They’ve done an excellent job of striking a balance while retaining the majority of the chemistry that propelled them to a deep playoff run last year, but the work is far from done.

There have been whispers that Dallas intends to re-sign Markieff Morris this summer, and the organization may make one more deal to further enhance their squad.

In this blockbuster deal with the Brooklyn Nets, the Mavericks give up a significant sum in exchange for a 3-and-D wing who Dallas fans would welcome back with open arms. This trade may appear great for the Mavs on the surface, but we have to delve in.
