DONE DEAL: Florida Gators announce the trade of another excellent star player to their roster.

Jeramiah McCloud, a four-star defensive line commit, was one of 26 recruits on campus for Florida’s Grill in the Ville barbecue last Saturday. Gator Country spoke with the 6’3, 280-pound Leesburg, Georgia native about his unofficial visit and future plans.

McCloud appreciated the relaxed atmosphere of the cookout since it allowed him to mingle with coaches and existing commits.

“It was fun. “We had a lot of fun,” McCloud remarked about the visit. Developing ties with coaches. I hung around with Coach Chatman and played a few games with Coach Napier. I basically just got to relax with a few commitments.”

McCloud also spent time in Gainesville recruiting numerous uncommitted players on campus, including Jarquez Carter, a recent Ohio State commit.

“He committed to Ohio State, so having him here today says a lot. That means something. “I just kept reminding him that Florida is the place for him,” McCloud stated in his message to Carter.

“Florida is an excellent fit. “The relationships with the coaches will always be there; they’re great people outside of football,” McCloud continued.

While Florida’s 2025 class is off to a poor start, McCloud does not appear concerned, as the state reportedly received a silent commitment over the weekend, according to numerous sources.

“I think with the new commit we just got, people are definitely going to start riding the wave with the very big commit we just got,” McCloud told me. “Florida is on the way back up, I definitely see that.”
McCloud remains committed to Florida but intends to use all of his official trips during the season.

“I am locked in. I just like to keep my recruitment options open to ensure that it’s the best fit for me. “I just want to see what other schools have to offer,” McCloud explained.

The Lee County High School graduate intends to visit Georgia, LSU, FSU, and Auburn this autumn.
