LATEST UPDATE : LA Rams sweeten Matthew Stafford’s contract ahead of 2024

The quarterback is beginning his sixteenth season in the NFL.
The Los Angeles Rams have successfully reworked quarterback Matthew Stafford’s contract, securing his commitment to the organization heading into the 2024 regular season.

Despite a wave of players in the NFL holding out for new contracts, the Rams and Stafford were able to prevent any interruptions by agreeing to a reworked financial arrangement.
Stafford’s contract runs until 2026.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Stafford’s modified contract will pay him an additional $5 million upfront in 2024, with his 2025 roster bonus climbing from $5 million to $9 million.

This modification provides Stafford with greater immediate financial rewards while maintaining his four-year, $160 million contract, which he signed in 2022, in place until the 2026 season.

Stafford, 36, expressed a desire for more guaranteed money after the Rams’ Super Bowl victory, which he helped secure.

“I’m pleased to be here, and I’m happy to play. I’m looking forward to playing football this year, and that’s what really important to me.” Sean McVay is pleased that his issue with Stafford has been settled.
