DONE DEAL : Barnsley has officially announced the signing of 20-year-old left-back

Georgie Gent has completed a permanent move to League One club Barnsley for an unknown price.

The 20-year-old left-sided player joined Rovers from Manchester City as an Under-15 and will sign his first professional contract with the club in April 2022.

He spent last season on loan at Scottish Premiership team Motherwell, making 31 games, and has now decided to pursue his football career away from Ewood Park.

Gent wrote on social media, “I’d just like to say a massive thank you to Blackburn Rovers Football Club for the past six years. I’ve met a lot of amazing individuals, including the staff and my teammates, but now it’s time for me to start a new chapter in my career.
