DONE DEAL : Texas Longhorns received a commitment from five-star wide receiver Alabama

Steve Sarkisian is rapidly improving his standing among the class of 2025 possibilities.

Recently, Sark and the Longhorns received a commitment from five-star wide receiver Kaliq Lockett. Despite receiving offers from SEC opponents LSU and Alabama, Lockett, who is originally from Sachse, TX, is choosing to play for the Longhorns. According to On3, the five-star prospect is listed as the No. 3 wideout and No. 17 overall athlete in the 2025 class, as well as the No. 6 prospect from Texas.

Lockett, who is entering his senior year of high school, stands 6 feet 1.5 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds.

During his junior season, Lockett had 59 receptions for 1,299 yards and 13 touchdowns.

As a five-star prospect, the future Longhorn has an overall grade of 96.67, the highest of any Texas pledge in the 2025 class.
Lockett’s NIL value is expected to be more than $315,000.
