JUST IN : Patrick Beverley has blunt comment about playing in Israel

Patrick Beverley surprised everyone by signing a contract with an Israeli professional team last month, but the veteran guard says he will not hesitate to leave his new club if safety concerns arise.

Beverley has signed a “historic” contract with Israel’s Premier League club Hapoel Tel Aviv BC. During the most recent episode of his “The Pat Bev Podcast,” Beverley admitted that he has received queries about playing overseas due to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

“Safety is crucial. “If a bomb goes off, I’m gone,” Beverley told EuroHoops.net.

A drone exploded in a Tel Aviv neighbourhood a few weeks ago, killing a citizen. Beverley stated that he has spoken with players who have informed him that they are safe in Israel, but this does not mean he will be naive.

“I haven’t got knowledge of any unsafe places in Tel Aviv now,” Beverley informed me. “My old teammate told me that every flat had a bomb room, which he used to hang up clothing. He spent three or four months there last season, and nothing occurred.

“The team, the EuroCup, doesn’t play much at home. Most of our EuroCup games take place in Bulgaria.”

The 36-year-old Beverley probably received a lot of interest from NBA teams, but he indicated he did not “want to “Stand in the corner.” He feels he will play a more significant role in Israel. Beverley averaged 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 73 games with the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks last season.
