Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day issued a harsh statement regarding Julian Sayin. The Ohio State Buckeyes are ecstatic about the future of rookie quarterback Julian Sayin. When he decided to move to Ohio State from Alabama, it was evident that the Buckeyes had found their quarterback of the future.
Sayin possesses great arm talent and an exceptional football IQ. He has the work ethic to back both of these claims up. With the 2024 season just around the corner, head coach Ryan Day provided a comment worth noting. He’s been really impressed with the young signal caller, and it appears that he’s open to playing him early.
“He has been fantastic. What I mean is
He has a decent plan when he gets out there. Doesn’t want his hand held. I have been pleased by his approach. And, as I mentioned previously, he has a very bright future. I mean, how fast he gets on the pitch will be all up to him.”
Clearly, he pleased the coaching staff early on. Will Howard appears to be the front-runner to start the 2024 season. Devin Brown appears to be second on the depth chart. Sayin sits behind both of those guys.
However, there is a chance he will see some playing time this year. If Howard were to start the season, he would be able to compete.
Directly with Brown.
Brown is a talented player, but Sayin has a superior arm. The only question is his age and awareness of the offence. Ohio State’s offence is extremely sophisticated, but Day will play the player who offers him the best chance of winning. This is not a prediction that Sayin will play this season, but it is possible. The Buckeyes will do whatever it takes to win. Sayin may factor into that equation at some point.
Expect to hear more encouraging news about Sayin as the season progresses. He has progressed quickly, and this should continue in the future.
