Brighton boss confirms interest in 78-time international star, hints at negotiation advantage

Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler has revealed the club’s interest in experienced German defender Mats Hummels, believing they may have an advantage in negotiations.

The 35-year-old was a standout for Borussia Dortmund last season, helping the club reach the Champions League final.

The veteran, however, was unable to prevent Dortmund from losing 2-0 to Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium, with Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr scoring in the second half to seal the tie.

Hummels, a 78-time Germany international and 2014 World Cup winner, left Dortmund at the end of the season as his contract expired.
