JUST IN : Browns sign 3 players, waive 3, terminate contract of another

Berea, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns made some roster changes on Monday, signing three players, waiving three others, and terminating the contract of another.

Prior to Monday’s practice, the Browns signed linebacker Brandon Bouyer-Randle, reinstated cornerback Faion Hicks, and signed safety Chase Williams. Bouyer-Randle was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2023, and he split his rookie season between the Bucs and Washington Commanders practice squads.

Hicks, the Denver Broncos’ seventh-round draft pick in 2022, appeared in two games as a rookie and spent last season on the New Orleans Saints practice squad. He was signed by the Browns on August 4, but was waived four days later. He returns to the team only days after being waived.

Williams, a rookie out of San Jose State, was a tryout for the Browns at rookie minicamp.

Defensive end Marcus Haynes and long snapper Rex Sunahara, who were signed on Thursday, were both dismissed.

The Browns also cancelled the contract of running back John Kelly Jr. Kelly has been on and off the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad since 2020. Kelly had four carries for 15 yards and a fumble in Saturday’s preseason game.
