The Buffalo Sabres have released their entire 2024–25 schedule. The season will officially begin on Friday, October 4, and Saturday, October 5, with two games in Prague, Czechia, as part of the NHL Global Series versus the New Jersey Devils.
The Los Angeles Kings will be the Sabres’ first home game at KeyBank Centre on Thursday, October 10. It will also be Lindy Ruff’s first game back in the bench as the new coach. They will play the Philadelphia Flyers at home on Thursday, April 17 to end the season.
Highlights of the schedule include the visit by the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers on October 2, the first-ever visit to the Queen City by the newly formed Utah Hockey Club on December 7, and the Sabres’ two road trips to California (November 20–23) and Western Canada (January 20–25, 2025) to the West Coast.
After finishing the previous season with a record of 39-37-6, 84 points, in the bottom of the Atlantic Division, the Sabres missed the playoffs for the thirteenth time in a row.
