JUST IN : Duke Announces Non-Conference Matchups

Durham, North Carolina – On Thursday, the Duke men’s basketball program released its non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 season.

Five of the non-conference games have already been announced: the State Farm Champions Classic against Kentucky on Tuesday, Nov. 12 in Atlanta, the Vegas Showdown against Kansas on Tuesday, Nov. 26 in Las Vegas, a home game against Seattle on Friday, Nov. 29, the ACC/SEC Challenge against Auburn on Wednesday, Dec. 4 in Durham, and the SentinelOne Classic against Illinois on February 22, 2025, at Madison Square Garden.

Under the guidance of third-year head coach Jon Scheyer, Duke will host seven non-conference opponents at Cameron Indoor Stadium before the new year. The Blue Devils’ regular season will begin at home on Monday, Nov. 4 against Maine, followed by A meeting with the Army is scheduled for Friday, November 8, also in Durham. Following the neutral-site Kentucky game on November 12, Duke will visit Wofford on Saturday, November 16, before travelling to Tucson to face Arizona on Friday, November 22.

In December, the Blue Devils will host three non-conference opponents at Cameron Indoor Stadium: Auburn on December 4, Incarnate Word on December 10, and George Mason on Tuesday, December 17.

Duke’s inaugural event at Cameron Indoor Stadium for the 2024-25 season is Countdown to Craziness, which takes place on Friday, October 4 at 7 p.m. The Blue Devils will face 2024 CIAA Tournament champion Lincoln (Pa.) in an exhibition game in Durham on Saturday, October 19. The ACC schedule has yet to be announced, but Duke’s 20-game schedule includes two games (home and away) against North Carolina, Wake Forest, and Miami, as well as home games against Cal, Florida State, NC State, Notre Dame, Pitt, Stanford, and Virginia Tech, and road games against Boston College, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Louisville, SMU, Syracuse, and Virginia. Season ticket renewals for the 2024-25 season are under underway, with the Duke MBB Waitlist opening in October. In Scheyer’s second year as head coach, the Blue Devils finished 27-9 in 2023-24 and were placed ninth in the final Associated Press poll. The campaign culminated in the program’s 24th Elite Eight berth. Duke returns two starters from last season’s team, junior Tyrese Proctor and sophomore Caleb Foster, while also signing the nation’s top recruiting class and adding four players via the transfer portal.

Duke’s six-player freshmen class includes five top-20 players in 247Sports rankings, as well as five-star prospects.
