Football Insider has been informed by sources that Stoke City has begun negotiations to sign Fulham striker Jay Stansfield.
Following talks with the Premier League club early in the transfer season, Birmingham City has cooled their interest in the 21-year-old.
Stansfield, a young player, could be sold by Fulham to another team before the August 30 transfer deadline.
After scoring 12 goals while on loan with Birmingham, a team that was demoted from Fulham the previous season, Stansfield has solidified his reputation as a Championship goal striker.
Stoke City wants Jay Stansfield.
This summer, Stoke wants to recruit players to their attack, and Fulham’s Jay Stansfield would be a great fit for Steve Schumacher’s forward line.
Tyrese Campbell and Wesley have already been let to depart the club during this transfer window, but Sam Gallagher from Blackburn has been signed.
