Here is what he had to say about his performance in the locker room afterwards, provided by the 49ers PR department.

How did you feel about it? Your first public appearance. How did your nerves feel?

COWING: “It was satisfying. to eventually step outside and somewhat wet my feet. being able to play against a team that isn’t our own and go out there and compete. Playing that with other guys was also enjoyable. Overall, I believe that everyone had a positive day. Being able to go out there and play football the best you can while being present, enjoying each other, and going there and simply doing excellent work.

What is the estimated number of steps you have taken this week?

COWING: “I believe that my confidence in my skills and abilities has increased significantly.”

the script. The way I was able to study the playbook helped some things to kind of remain with me during the game. letting me go there, play quickly, and engage in a small bit of my game. Playing a little loosely, but overall just going out there, projecting confidence, and playing football in my own way.

Q: Pump and go was the major play. You can shoot off the line and have such a quick skill set, so does that kind of path go well with it?

COWING: “I would like to say that I believe so.” I’ve been doing that for a while now, able to show my speed in small increments and my

path proficiency. It was a terrific play call with excellent execution on both ends at the same time. to be able to finish it afterwards. It was a wise play decision.
