NIGHTMARE : ‘Terrific’ QPR star could miss Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall clashes amid

So far this season, Marti Cifuentes has been missing the team’s Championship leading scorer from last season.
Ilias Chair, a QPR attacker, is set to miss an extended length of time due to a back ailment that has kept him out of the first few games of the 2024/25 season.

The Morocco international was a vital player for the R’s last season, scoring seven goals and assisting eight, with Marti Cifuentes hailing his influence as ‘terrific’, but he has yet to play this season. Chair had participated in pre-season with the London club, but was absent from friendlies against Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton, and Read. The winger was then left out of the Championship opener against West Brom, and he did not appear against Cambridge United in the Carabao Cup or in Saturday’s draw against Sheffield United. After picking up a point at Bramall Lane, QPR head coach Cifuentes confirmed that the injury is worse than initially anticipated. He stated, “Perhaps we QPR's Ilias Chair: 'Pressure is what my family went through. Playing football is a blessing' | The Independent expected it would be less aggressive, but it’s a lower back condition that will keep him away for a few more weeks. “I stated we were waiting for some testing, and regrettably, the tests revealed that the development is more or less what we expected. I’m always hopeful and expected it to be a faster procedure, but it’s a bone bruise that takes time.” In those words, provided by West London Sport, the Catalan manager avoided placing a specific comeback date on Chair’s injury, although the report says that the player might be out for up to ten weeks. The forward has been nursing the injury since July 19, implying a possible return at the end of September. As a result, the important player may miss not just upcoming league and cup games against Plymouth Argyle and Luton Town, but also matches against Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall following the international break. That will be a setback for Cifuentes, but the Reds are bolstered by a recent double transfer swoop for two new wingers.
