BREAKING NEWS : Aston Villa agree to re-sign Man City 19-year-old midfielder

Aston Villa have agreed to re-sign Manchester City midfielder Kane Taylor, according to Football Insider sources.

Personal conditions have been agreed upon with the 19-year-old after City accepted a bid of just under £1 million for his services. The deal will also include a 25% sell-on clause for any future transfers.

Taylor will become Villa Park’s ninth signing of the summer, aged 23 or younger.

Unai Emery and his recruiting team have sought younger players in the transfer market as they seek to ensure the future of their first-team group.

Taylor departed Villa Park to join Manchester City in 2019, signing a scholarship deal with the club in 2021 before receiving his first professional contract later that year.

The Birmingham-born midfielder has played extensively for Manchester City’s junior teams but has yet to make the first squad under Pep Guardiola. Last season, he made 28 appearances in all competitions, including significant roles in the Under-21s’ UEFA Youth League and EFL Trophy campaigns.

Taylor’s senior experience comes from his EFL Trophy outings against Grimsby, Barnsley, and Bradford.

He was eager to make the move away from City. Summer in quest of regular senior football and a clearer path to the first team.
