Wolves are yet to replace Pedro Neto as we enter the last nine days of the summer transfer window.
The Portugal international was undoubtedly Gary O’Neil’s greatest player before leaving Wolves in a £54 million move to join Chelsea, thus a successor is required. Molineux is in talks to bring a similar forward to Wolves.

According to Viola News in Italy, the Wolves have made contact with Fiorentina about signing Jonathan Ikone.
The Italian news site believes Leicester have also enquired about the France international, who Fiorentina signed from Lille for €15 million (£12.8 million) in January 2022.
Viola News state that Ikone is likely to leave Fiorentina in the final days of the summer transfer window, with the Serie A side also happy to sell Josip Brekalo – who Rangers are in talks to sign. The Fiorentina No.11 made 18 starts in Serie A last season – scoring three goals while also providing one assist – but is no longer Raffaele Palladino’s first choice on the right flank. Ikone – who Chelsea wanted in 2020 – has also already entered the final 24 months of his contract, so Fiorentina risk allowing his value to decrease substantially if he is sold in 2025 instead of this summer.

While Ikone has fallen out of favour at Fiorentina, at the age of 26, he is still a dangerous forward with plenty of pace who plays in a style similar to Neto’s. The Frenchman, like the Portuguese international, prefers to use his left foot and has a strong tendency to cut inside from the right wing, aiming to test the defenders with a shot or a cross.
