PSG has quoted Everton a transfer cost for Carlos Soler as the club competes with West Ham United to sign the Spain midfielder, according to Romain Collet-Gaudin.
The European journalist said on X [23 August] that both the Toffees and West Ham are interested in moving Soler to the Premier League, but PSG prefers a straight sale over a loan. According to Collet-Gaudin, PSG will consider a sale for more than £20.3 million, setting up a duel between the two English teams.
Everton quoted a price for Carlos Soler from PSG.
The Soler events in the last 24-48 hours have been highly interesting, with West Ham appearing to be in pole position with the Spanish international keen
On the move. Now that Everton has contacted, the competition for his signing could be music to the ears of the PSG board, who recently spent over £50 million on teenage sensation Joao Neves and can now do without Soler.
Sean Dyche will be eager to replace Amadou Onana, and some of the £50 million cost paid for the Belgian may be reinvested in a player who has four goals in 14 full Spain caps and 63 appearances for PSG in the last two years. After learning of the 27-year-old’s availability, the Toffees are alleged to have instantly “made contact” with officials in Paris to try to detour Soler’s route to London with an arrival on Merseyside instead.
Dyche has always been interested in a central midfielder, with links circulating this week about a transfer for Eintracht Frankfurt man. A loan-to-buy bid might also be made as Everton looks to get their finances in line, however PSG has stated their preference.
Other Everton news includes Kieran Trippier’s likely decision to transfer to Goodison Park.
