Even though he didn’t play as much as he would have liked, Jayson Tatum had a fantastic year in many respects. He received a huge new contract extension, won the NBA title with the Boston Celtics, was named an All-Star once more, and earned a gold medal in Paris.

During his discussion with Jason Bensinger, he brought up his experience at Duke.

A fantastic section describes Mike Krzyzewski’s visit to his mother’s home during his high school years, along with other details about how Krzyzewski inspired him.

He also recounts the story of the locker room lockout, in which Coach K informed the team they didn’t deserve to be at Duke after they lost to UVA by placing garbage bags in front of their lockers (we believe Jay Bilas shared a similar story).
He referred to him as a “soft-ass kid from St. Louis” once more, saying he would never have recruited him if he had known how soft he was.

He concludes by saying that picking Duke was the right choice.

of his existence. He continues by repeating a well-known Krzyzewski-ism, which is that he yearned to be a part of something greater than himself.

I really suggest seeing this short yet excellent video.
