BREAKING NEWS : Pittsburgh native Star signs four-year, $45 million extension with Indiana Pacers

INDIANAPOLIS (KDKA) – T.J. McConnell, a guard for the Indiana Pacers, is reportedly making a lot of money in the NBA. He signed a four-year, $45 million extension with the team this week, according to ESPN. McConnell has one year left on his current contract, which is worth a little over $9 million. This will keep him with the Pacers through the 2028–2029 season. The 32-year-old was a vital component of the Pacers’ run to the NBA’s Eastern Conference Final, scoring 10.2 points per game during the regular season and 11.8 points per game during the postseason. During the season, he appeared in 71 games and started four.

 

After going undrafted in 2015, McConnell joined theS to play in the NBA Summer League. He has since spent eight seasons in the league with both the 76ers and the Pacers, who he signed with in 2019. McConnell averaged 7.5 points per game and had a 51.6% field goal percentage over his 627 career games. As a high school player, he scored 2,404 points for Chartiers Valley. He also attended Duquesne and Arizona for his college career.
