JUST IN : NHL Teams Are Negotiating With RFAs To Unsigned 22-year-old potential Player Under Contract Before Training Camp.

NHL training camps will open in just over two weeks. This leaves clubs with a limited window to sign their unsigned RFAs. Jeremy Swayman, the Boston Bruins’ goaltender, leads the list. He and the Bruins are apparently still far apart in negotiations, despite both parties expressing confidence that a deal will be reached before training camp.

According to Michael DeRosa, Kevin Paul Dupont of The Boston Globe suggested that Swayman and the Bruins might reach an agreement on a short-term contract that would keep him until he is 29. He also reported Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli as saying the Swayman camp was looking for an average annual value in the mid-$8 million level earlier this summer, while the Bruins countered with something in the low-$6 million bracket.

There has been little news on the Dallas Stars’ negotiations with defenseman Thomas Harley. The most recent report came on August 9, when GM Jim Nill told The Dallas Morning News that he remained confident in signing the 23-year-old blueliner before training camp.
